To Build A Universe

For this school project not sure if I should use hipster dragon or Lady Giraffe…

A project for Color Theory that I just got back. (The scanner can’t fit the whole thing but the crow looks the worst anyway.)

Hello everyone!

I’m currently taking a 3-D design class, as in we have to make 3D shit like sculptures and whatnot. We had an out-of-class assignment to make something (anything) out of paper and I chose to make a dress. The bodice part is made from strips of newspaper that I glued together and then painted pink. The bottom ruffles and the ones at the top of the dress are made out of an antique Harvard Classics book of poetry. I bought it for the sole purpose of using it for the paper project, so it didn’t kill me to use it.

Also in the works is a functional cardboard desk. Dumb and time consuming, yes. Cool, sort of.

Strangely proud of this drawing, done hastily in my sketchbook for my class tomorrow.

Hellllo. These are pictures of a quick 40-minute drawing done referencing a nude model. The only reason I like it is because I believe I made the model look like Molly Ringwald. So if you’ve ever wondered…this is her naked.

Also there’s Cow, my cat, because she won’t leave me alone and insists on sitting on all my drawings.

The teacher hung my drawing up last class (one of only four) which is exciting! It’s much better than this; maybe I’ll post the better ones when they come down from the wall.

This is one of my favorite photos of all time. It’s my grandfather and I in 1993; I wasn’t even two years old yet (but close). It was a little tricky drawing from an almost 20-year-old photograph, it being fuzzy and the light not being great. Also, he was doing something weird with his lips, I think he was sticking his tongue in his cheek, which makes it look a bit awkward. Enough excuses though.
He died almost two years ago in April from esophageal cancer. Something I’ve always thought would be cool would be to be able to spend a day with his teenage self; see how he dressed, what music he listened to, how he spent his days. I love the stories of him from when he was younger and getting into trouble. I’ll cling to the memories of him for the rest of my life.

Inspired by the Butthole Surfers. Not really art, but whatever. My lips!

Well. I’ve been too busy and lazy to draw much lately. But, I’m half-way through a self-portrait currently, which I also plan to add color to so that should be good. Instead of new work I give you a two-year-old drawing of the Pancake Family Portrait. Please enjoy.
